Our team consists of talented and passionate professionals who focus on developing and implementing industry-leading quality and safety methodologies for cannabis production, processing and extractions. We were among the first in Washington state to voluntarily work with local laboratories to help create rigorous quality control standards. Our cultivation techniques, extraction process and quality control initiatives equates to superior products for our consumer base. As doctors, scientists, researchers, farmers, growers, teachers, educators, and advocates, we’re proud of how far our country has come in cannabis legalization. Our goal is to provide safe, high quality cannabis products and derivatives to the millions of North Americans that want them.

There is a growing need for safe and consistent cannabis products with in the cannabis market place. New Leaf Ventures, Inc. fulfills those needs through standardized testing and quality control methods to ensure our products are safe.
In the early 1990’s, Dax Colwell was the third employee at Straightline Water Sports, a snowboard and wakeboard company located in Redmond, Washington. He was employed by Straightline for 10 years and played a key role in the massive growth of the company with the new board sport industry. After that, he started Compression Technologies and TR Manufacturing, two composite manufacturing facilities based in Bellevue, Washington, and ran a construction company for 10 years.
In 2011, Colwell started researching the Washington medical cannabis market. In February of 2012, he created Dama LLC, a medical cannabis concentrate company. Later that year, Colwell merged Dama LLC with New Leaf Botanicals and created New Leaf. As Co-founder, Colwell works jointly with Boris Gorodnitsky on new business and product development efforts. Colwell leads all of the marketing efforts at New Leaf.
Boris Gorodnitsky began his career in software development, where he held positions in a number of technology companies from small start-ups to large corporations such as Microsoft. He served as Chief Technology Officer at Advanced Marine Technology, a high-seas marine navigation equipment company located in Seattle. He was also the director of software development at Captura, an enterprise business software company in Kirkland, Washington. In the early 2000’s, Gorodnitsky developed an interest in Washington’s nascent medical cannabis industry.
After several years of small-scale growing, he began large-scale flower production for the medical industry in 2009, and formed New Leaf, Inc. with Dax Colwell in 2012. As Co-founder, Gorodnitsky works directly with Colwell on business development and new product efforts. Gorodnitsky leads all product aspects for the business including growing and processing techniques.
New Leaf Ventures’ (NLV) facility encompasses an impressive 30,000 square feet of space, optimized for achieving maximum THC levels. As a Washington-based tier 3 licensed producer and processor of ultra-premium cannabis, this facility supports cultivation, processing, extraction and innovation. NLV employs cutting-edge methodologies such as EnWave’s REV technology for drying and processing to manage efficient and predictable dry cycles. Additionally, NLE is among the first to voluntarily work with local laboratories to create rigorous quality control standards.
NLV is working towards becoming the largest cultivator, extractor and innovator in the US cannabis market through innovation, partnerships, and scaling-up operations.

The New Leaf Hemp Company is looking to expand into a facility located across the street from existing operations. The finished facility will be a spacious 5,000 square feet that will be dedicated to hemp and CBD (Cannabidiol) extraction and processing.
